Volunteers are an essential partner in our delivery of services to residents of Lanark Lodge. They provide a unique contribution through their contribution of time, special skills, and a "caring heart", you can make a difference and enhance the quality of life of older adults. We value the dedication of our volunteers and encourage involvement in all aspects of our community's life.
Volunteering affords one the opportunity to make new friends and to encounter new experiences, skills and challenges. Most volunteers commit to an ongoing number of hours per week or per month and often create their own positions based on their interests and talents.
High school and college students in Co-operative Education programs are encouraged to consider us for a work experience placement.
Depending upon your time, interests, and skills, our homes offer a wide variety of challenging and fulfilling volunteer positions. Examples of roles may include:
- Singing, music and entertainment
- Friendly visitor
- Dining and Mealtime assistance
- Arts and crafts
- Spiritual programs
- Woodworking and hobbies
